There is no doubt that Hippocrates is the most well known person that ever lived on Kos (5th century B.C.) and one of the most significant scientists of the entire world. The ancient therapeutic center of the Asklepeion was a lot more than just that: A religious center worshipping the ancient Greek god of medicine Asklepios, and of course a worldwide known medical school that created principles, initiated scientific development in medicine, and a lot more.
